In the state of Georgia, you may be evaluated by a Physical Therapist and treated for 21 days or 8 visits, whichever comes first, without a referral from a Physician.

Direct communication with a physician is required to receive dry needling as part of your treatment. The easiest way to meet this requirement would be for you to have a physical therapy referral by the time you come in for your visit.

Please email Tony@AtlantaPT.com with any questions or for assistance with scheduling your appointment.

Physical Therapy

“I believe Physical Therapy should be directed toward treating the entire patient. I am driven by the opportunity to help people help themselves and most inspired by patients who really take ownership of their treatment.”

Tony’s decision to pursue a career in physical therapy is directly linked to his lifelong passion for the martial arts. He was inspired by the science behind physical therapy when he noticed the changes
that came with the stretching, strengthening, balance and coordination training of martial arts practice. In his 25 years as a martial artist, Tony witnessed incredible improvements in the quality of life of practitioners who had lifelong injuries; this has given him unique insight into the needs of those who study boxing, karate, taekwondo, kung fu, muay thai, jiujitsu, kickboxing, and judo.

Tony received a Bachelor of Science in cellular and molecular biology from the University of West Florida and graduated from the Doctor of Physical Therapy Program at Georgia State University in 2011. There, he assisted with research studying Tai Chi for Parkinson’s disease and conducted research on the use of a modified wheelchair Tai Chi form for spinal cord injury patients.

Tony is certified in dry needling from the Myopain Seminars and is currently an instructor in their dry needling certification program. In addition, he received training for Redcord Neurac, as well as Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA) and Functional Movement Screen (FMS). Tony also has a strong interest in manual therapy utilizing extensive training in Maitland Manual therapy and Michigan State muscle energy techniques.

In his free time, Tony enjoys camping and hiking with his girlfriend and their dog Scout, practicing Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, riding his motorcycle, and going to rock shows.
